Chief Peter D. Quaw BA, MBA, CMS.

"You are your own Creator:
you create the life you wish to lead.
Chief Quaw is a traditional Chief from the Klheidli Dene in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. The title was passed on to him in 1993 by the Elders of his village at a Bahlhat (Potlatch) called to mark the occasion prior to entering the Treaty Making process in Canada. A Traditional Chief holds title to traditional territory and resources for the tribe.
He works as a Community and Business Development adviser/consultant and has extensively lectured on the Indigenous way-of-life both on a historical and contemporary basis. Chief Quaw has worked in business, not for profit, guest speaker at international symposiums and participates on various boards.
Chief Quaw apprenticed with his families elders/mentors since he was 5 years old. At that period in time our people knew that the very fabric of our being was going to be shaken up and changed. Their belief is that the non-native impacts are going to prove devastating to our communities and to their clan and tribe as a whole. Traditional knowledge was passed down to Chief Quaw over many years and has codified that knowledge so that the information can be passed down to members of the family.
Chief Quaw lives a traditional way of being with "honor, respect and integrity" built into his everyday life. He works as a spiritual guide and as a businessperson. He graduated from Laurentian University with a BA in Sociology, a Masters of Business Administration advanced degree from Phoenix University, a Certified Master Trainer and presently mid-way on a Doctorate in Economics. His thesis is on "spiritual economics" where his premise is that the Potlatch economy is superior to the Non-native capitalistic form of business.
Chief Quaw has worked with many people from around the world on spiritual economics and setting up individual businesses and native crown corporations. The focus is never on getting as much money as you can, it is based upon each individual and entity attaining a quality way-of-life. Pursuing vast wealth as an individual is not the native way-of-being, vast wealth belongs appropriately to the tribe as a whole.
